FAQ

Why are most of the account statements for short periods?

When you have 100% return on your money in a trading account, sometimes it's wise to stop trading and take your wins. At least that is the philosophy of many clients, who, for various reasons, have closed their accounts after successes.

The second reason is that discretionary decisions are made to shut down systems

Are there accounts you do not display?

We have hundreds of accounts at any given moment, mostly demo, because the only real way to test systems is to trade them live. When we feel a system is tradeable, the first step is trading micro-mini lots with a very small account. Then as we monitor it, and our confidence in the system grows, we fund it with more money.

What about losing accounts?

If an account is losing, over a period of time, it is likely that you will stop trading that strategy. The idea that automatic trading is a crapshoot is a very undeveloped thought. First of all, before going live with any automatic system, there is a lot of performance analytics that can be obtained and analyzed. Secondly, when live, you can always decide to stop trading. If a strategy is performing well, it is likely you will allow it to grow. If a strategy is performing poorly, you are likely to be skeptical and stop trading.

The key to automatic trading is to identify what works and what doesn't work, and when you have something that works, proceed with caution.

Is there any sort of 'account protection'

Yes - most systems can have account protection embedded in them. That means you can set a value you are willing to risk, and if that level is breached, trading is halted.
