Forex Investments - Forex Managed Accounts

forex

Invest in the most liquid, fastest growing market in the world: foreign exchange.

A forex managed account is similar to a brokerage account in other markets, the only difference being you give a trader the right to continuously trade the account without checking first with you. That means a strategy is selected by you, and implemented by the trader. Normally there are commissions involved but everything is per trade, there are no monthly maintenance fees, up front costs, software to purchase, or account opening fees. In the case of Trade Robot, we use a fully automated solution to implement our strategies on your account. The below photo represents a portfolio composed in the Trade Robot software. It is built according to criteria such as win/loss ratio, length of time in trade, and percent profitable. The strategies selected are then automatically executed on your account.CLICK HERE TO SEE RESULTS

In our experience trading automatically, we have found many good strategies, but none that work all the time. There are strategies that will have nearly 100% accurate signals during certain kinds of markets (i.e. during a trending market) and then the same strategy will have terrible performance in a ranging market. It is difficult to determine what kind of strategies will perform in various kinds of markets. Also it is difficult to forcast what the market will bring in the days, weeks, and months to come. Therefore, the only way to profitably trade automated systems is using a portfolio based approach.

Trade Robot – Automated Currency Managed Accounts

The future of investing: An investment account that is fully automated.  Computer software handles money management, order execution, and market analysis.

What % return can I expect?

This can vary depending on the leverage used.  Optimally, we aim for 10% per month with low drawdowns.  That means the account should not drop below 10% in order to make 10%.  No account goes straight up, there are always losing trades, but the losing trades should be far less than winners.  It is possible to make 100% in a year.

Here is an example from an account, going back 1 year. This is a live account trading history, not a backtest or hypothetical.

performance

This above graph is based on a live account statement using our portfolio approach. In this account, you can see that it is not a straight line up. However the returns are undeniable – over 100% in a year. There are other accounts that have made 300% and others which have made only 50%. All the accounts are positive.

What is the portfolio approach?

We create a portfolio of automated trading systems, rather than using 1 or 2, in combination with each other. This is what allows our returns to be steady. Portfolios can be customized based on the trading style desired. Multiple accounts could be offered with multiple portfolios – all with uncorrelated systems – all profitable.

The portfolio creation process

Using our proprietary portfolio builder, we can create a strategy which is a ‘super strategy’ comprised of hundreds of systems. Some of the systems may only trade once a week or once a month. However when you combine all of them you can have a day trading system that trades on multiple pairs.

What if something goes haywire with the robot?

There are account loss limits in place that would go into effect.  Similar to stock market curbs, these limit individual account losses to 5% - 20% of the account balance.  This can be adjusted for each account according to risk profile and account aggressiveness.

If this is so great, why isn’t everyone doing it?

How do you know they are not?  Is it so difficult to accept that if there was an investment that was so robust, so consistent, so advanced, that it wouldn’t be on the front page of the New York Times?  In the mid 90’s Intel made a great deal of it’s revenue from speculation in the currency markets, in some years they made more money trading currency than making processors!  Most large corporations have treasury desks who are dealing foreign exchange.  Banks and brokerages are in it, central banks and governments trade forex, it seems the only few who do not are you and your stock broker!

Billions of dollars are spent promoting stock trading, and it is an entrenched industry in the culture and society of investors and traders worldwide.  That isn’t going to change quickly and like any new technology or market, the change doesn’t happen overnight.  However you will see more and more interest in forex trading as time goes on, especially considering the substantial potential for returns in fx.
